Police in Mumbai did not fail in recent attacks on Mumbai but the whole system failed. And it has happened not once but several times. Every time they give some pretext or other. This time however the new home minister admitted the failure of central agencies. Mr. Chidambaram has admitted that Raw, Coast guard. Navy, and Central Intelligence i.e. IB, all agencies miserably failed. We can not blame Mumbai Police only. The system pathetically admitted defeat and they did not know whom to blame. The attack of the Jehadis was so swift and so ruthless that whole system became numb and paralyzed. The manner in which jehadis were moving in Mumbai, it was certain that they had come several times to Mumbai and were familiar with the city. Mumbai police are maintaining that only ten jehadis came by sea rout. But every child knows that they came now by Kubera but they must have had several visits to the country previously and God knows how many times. We are not certain even now, several jehadis must be hiding in our nation dormant, ready to go into action once the signal is given. Shame on us. Everybody in this country is telling us that it is the work of lashkar-e-toyaba. But whatever name they take, deccan mujahidin or any damn, ultimately it is handi work of Al Quayada. In one form or the other, under one name or other Al Quayada is operating in this subcontinent. The dexterity with which jehadis opened fire everywhere and ease with which they moved about only confirms this fact.
Another fact was highlighted by these attacks is that if suddenly any aggression is there, how it is defended by our police or para military forces. We have to admit sadly that we can not defend such sudden attacks even in our country. In the best of preparedness we can not defend our people and property. That is why the moral of the people has touched all time low. People are angry and frustrated due to this. The politicians, instead of dousing the fire, fanning the fire. It is sad state of affair. Mr. Arvind Inamdar, former IG, said that people are ready to give money to anybody to stop jehadis. They have no faith in our police or military or navy. God save the king is British saying but on the same lines it can be said that God save our people. We have no defence in our country against jehadis attacks is sad fact highlighted by these attacks on Mumbai. Our systems need complete overhauling, our home land security needs to seen in different perspective. And for that friends, different type of people must be at the helm of affairs. There is no harm in calling back some retired people, real motivated people like Mr. Inamdar or Mr.Y C Pawar. But we cant sleep on the issue now, it is urgent and expeditious.
JAY HIND.
